Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal data under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

Who we are

This website is operated by Akesh Abhilash, advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, who practises as a consultant with Laelia Chambers LLC (“we”, “us”). Laelia Chambers LLC is the organisation responsible for personal data collected through this site.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, a description of your matter, the name of any other party, and any document you upload. Our website may also record basic technical data, such as pages visited and browser type, to help us understand how the site is used.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
  • To check for conflicts of interest before we act.
  • To provide legal services if we are engaged.
  • To meet our legal and professional obligations, including anti-money laundering checks.

By submitting the enquiry form, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal data for these purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only where needed for the purposes above: with service providers who host our website, forms and email; with foreign counsel or other professionals on your matter, with your agreement; and where the law requires us to.

Transfers outside Singapore

Some of our service providers may store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps to ensure your data receives protection comparable to that under the PDPA.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law or our professional rules require. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after one month.

Your rights

You may ask to see or correct the personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to act for you. Write to our Data Protection Officer at akesh@akeshabhilash.com.
